People for Technological Advancement: Who are we?

We are the people who don’t want to die, but are sentenced to death by life and the conditions into which we are born. To us – life is not long enough and is of poor quality. And to us – this is the most difficult struggle in the world. The struggle for technological development for the benefit of the people and not the parasites. The struggle for which we fight against capital.
So we can overcome that which turns one person into a parasite and survive. To break away from our feeble bodies and become invulnerable. To burn the mistakes of the decisions we made. We have nothing to lose, because death is the inevitable loss if we don’t act.

People for Technological Advancement is a movement and an array of horizontally structured organizations – it has no office, no leader, it does not exist physically, but at the same time it exists аs the strive of every anarchist, who fights for the betterment of life through the development of technology. The technology, that is the application of scientific knowledge towards the practical goals of human life.

We are not technophiles, because we also see that not every aspect of modern technology is inherently „good“ thus we consider criticisms to be necessary. In the same way we see necessity in the destruction or sabotage of those deemed by us to be detrimental instruments of technology. We also oppose mindless consumerism in that manner.

The movement and the organizations are mainly characterized by the relationship of transhumanism and posthumanism with anarchist tendencies, behaviors and materialism. Transhumanism is the position that humans should be allowed to use technology to modify and enhance human cognition and bodily functions, expanding abilities and capacities beyond biological limitations. Anarcho-transhumanism is our main direction for aspiration and the need of our movement from theory to praxis. Anarcho-transhumanism for us is and can be both an endorsement of humanism and a brutal critique of humanity and its weaknesses. Anarcho-transhumanism for us is the view that social freedom is inherently linked to material freedom. For us, post-humanism is a way of thought about the intersecting human, non-human and technological worlds.

We consider that transhumanism must not be used against the freedom of humanity and for that reason, we oppose all other forms of transhumanism and the misuse of technology for the purpose of enslaving and controlling populations. We oppose the technologies that are leading us towards an ecological catastrophe. Our struggle is for a balance between development, sustainability and freedom.
We are also against all who wish to send us back to the caves or to prevent and slow down the developments from the product of our labor and efforts towards betterment. This includes cultural influence by conservative views and in general – reactionaries.

For us, the goal is to surpass human limits. This requires the justice and freedom of anarchy, defined by society where no one rules over another person. Technological development without anarchy for us can only lead to slavery and self-destruction. So we have to strive to expand our physical freedom just as we strive to expand our social freedom. If we don’t succeed for ourselves, at least we will make way for the next future of fighters in the desire that they may revive what remains of us. If we don’t manage at all, then at least we would be living in the moment.

People for Technological Advancement is a complete inversion of the dark green environmentalism. For that we announce, that all who defend primitivism and its tendencies are our mortal enemies. We are the „dark-blue“ transhumanism, where the use of extremist action is encouraged as a means of progress towards technological innovation for the accomplishment of given revolutionary goals. Eco-extremist organizations which sympathize with primitivism and other reactionary views are our enemies, however ecology is important to us. Eco-anarchism and criticisms from the perspectives of anti-civilization and post-civilization are approved and valid tendencies for anarchism for us, however we must add to them – that we demand the need for technological development again and in a radically different way in accordance with the scarcity of resources and limitations on our planet until we reach a new phase. In the view of quite a lot of us, technological innovations can continue to be created and developed even if there is no mass industry.

The history of the movement will be written from person to person, with a variety of words and new concepts to arrive, but with the same goal – the goal of immortality and anarchy. Therefore all individuals who make use of technologies for the real emancipation of humanity and their own personal emancipation according to our visions are part of us.
